The Absegami High School football team picked up its first win of the season in thrilling fashion Thursday night.
The Braves defeated Egg Harbor Township, 29-28, according to the box score posted on nj.com.
Absegami took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, and led 21-14 at halftime.

However, the Eagles tied the game in the third quarter, and took the lead in the fourth.
When Tyler Welch hit Vinnie Nelson with a 49-yard touchdown pass to pull Absegami within one point, the Braves ended up winning the game on an unplanned two-point conversion run by Chris Dolan, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

It was Welch’s second touchdown pass of the game. He hit Nelson with a 16-yarder in the first quarter to put Absegami up, 14-0.
Andy Ifreke accounted for the other two scores, on rushes.
Absegami improved to 1-2.
