Absegami High School sophomore Rebecca Roesch helped lead the Tri-Cape team to a 6-3 win over Delaware North in the Phillies Carpenter Cup Softball Classic at FDR Park on Monday, according to shorenewstoday.com.

Roesch’s two-run double broke a 3-3 tie en route to the win, according to the report.

Tri-Cape won three games on Monday, including a 7-5 win over Olympic-Colonial and a 7-2 win over Delaware County, according to the report.

Tri-Cape returns to action Wednesday against a yet-to-be-determined opponent. The tournament concludes on Thursday.

The Carpenter Cup is named after former Philadelphia Phillies’ owners Bob and Ruly Carpenter. It consists of high school softball all-stars from the surrounding area. The Tri-Cape team consists of all-stars from the Tri-County Conference and the Cape-Atlantic League.
