Oceanville Fire Company Receives $19,715 Federal Grant

The grant is to help improve safety and operations.

Oceanville Fire Company No. 1 will receive a federal Assistance to Firefighter grant (AFG) in the amount of $19,715 to improve safety and operations, U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker said on Wednesday.

“These grants will help ensure our first responders have the tools they need to protect their residents and communities,” Menendez said. “We must do everything we can to allow our fire departments to operate more efficiently and ensure our firefighters are properly equipped to protect themselves and keep residents safe.”

The AFG program is administered by the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Green Creek Volunteer Fire Company also received a grant through the program, in the amount of $52,096.

“The brave men and women in the Green Greek and Oceanville fire departments who volunteer their time and expertise will benefit from these grants and the operational support they provide,” Booker said. “I’m grateful both to FEMA for its assistance and to all the New Jerseyans who valiantly choose to join our state’s firefighting forces.”

The AFG program provides funding to enhance response capabilities, as well as to more effectively protect the health and safety of the public and emergency response personnel.
