Breeze Airways Expands Atlantic City Service After Spirit Shutdown

Breeze announced new Atlantic City routes and said the airport will have seven nonstop Breeze destinations.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — Atlantic City International Airport is getting four new Breeze Airways routes as the carrier expands service and marks its first flight there this week. Breeze announced Monday that travelers can now book nonstop service from Atlantic City to Orlando, Florida; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Fort Myers, Florida; and West Palm Beach, Florida.

The news comes days after Spirit Airlines shut down. The carrier made up the bulk of flights at Atlantic City International.

According to the announcement, Orlando service starts July 3 and will operate daily, with fares from $89 one way. Myrtle Beach and Fort Myers service both start Oct. 22. Myrtle Beach flights will run on Thursdays and Sundays, with fares from $49 one way, while Fort Myers flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, with fares from $89 one way. West Palm Beach service starts Dec. 17 and will also run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, with fares from $89 one way.

The airline said the added routes bring Breeze’s service to seven nonstop destinations, which it described as the most of any carrier in Atlantic City. The Atlantic City expansion was part of a broader announcement from Salt Lake City-based Breeze that also included new service to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and added flights to several existing international destinations from other U.S. cities.

“In 2021, Breeze took flight with a handful of routes and big plans to deliver affordable, elevated service between underserved cities. Launching service to the U.S. Virgin Islands on the cusp of our 5-year anniversary speaks to how far Breeze has come in that time," said David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways. "Whether it's a new destination like St. Thomas or making sure travelers in Atlantic City have affordable options, we're continuing to grow where the demand is – and we're just getting started.”

The same announcement listed reciprocal routes into Atlantic City from Orlando beginning July 3, from Myrtle Beach and Fort Myers beginning Oct. 22, and from West Palm Beach beginning Dec. 17. Breeze also announced added service from cities including Pittsburgh, Richmond, Columbus, Tampa and Vero Beach, with routes to Cancun, Punta Cana and St. Thomas.

The new Atlantic City flights are available for booking now, according to Breeze. Service will roll out in phases, beginning with daily Orlando flights in July and continuing through December with the launch of West Palm Beach service.
