ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — An Atlantic City father is accused of beating his 1-year-old daughter to death, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Imodd Brown Dillihay, 29, was charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter in the death of his infant daughter.
On Feb. 2, 2026, police went to an Atlantic City apartment for a 911 call regarding an unresponsive baby, officials said.
The child was rushed to the hospital, but died from her injuries, authorities said.
She "suffered profound injuries" from blunt force trauma to her head and neck, according to authorities.
An autopsy found a contusion on the baby's forehead and abrasions on both sides of her neck, officials said.
Bilateral retinal hemorrhages were present. She had absent brainstem reflexes, consistent with brain death, officials said.
The report concluded that the baby had suffered from multiple blunt force injuries over several areas of her body, according to officials.
Her neck injuries and underlying cervical spinal injury were consistent with inflicted injury to the neck and exceeded what would be expected from resuscitation efforts, authorities said.
She also suffered from substantial subdural hemorrhages, brain edema and multidirectional herniation, spinal hemorrhaging, hemorrhagic injury of the cervical spinal cord and cervical thoracic cord.
Her manner of death was determined to be blunt force trauma to the head and neck, and the manner of death is homicide, officials said.
Based on evidence, it is alleged that Dillihay was the baby's sole caretaker at the time of her death, authorities said.
A motion for pre-trial detention is set for next week.
