Pedestrian Seriously Hurt In South Jersey Crash: Police

The 20-year-old pedestrian was crossing Black Horse Pike improperly when he was hit, Egg Harbor Township police said.

EGG HARBOR TWP., NJ — A Mays Landing man was seriously injured after being struck by a car while crossing Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township, police said.

Police responded to the area of Black Horse Pike and Fire Road just before 9 p.m. Saturday.

An 80-year-old Williamstown man was heading west on Black Horse Pike in a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado when he struck a pedestrian improperly crossing the highway, police said.

The 20-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured and taken to AtlantiCare City Division, police said.

The driver was uninjured.

Traffic was detoured for about three hours as the scene was being investigated and cleared.

Investigation into the crash is ongoing.
