Minibike-Car Crash Kills Boy, 7, In Atlantic City: Police

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — A 7-year-old boy died after the minibike he was riding collided with a car, Atlantic City police said.

It was about 5 p.m. Sunday when the boy, riding a gas-powered minibike near the intersection of Massachusetts and Melrose avenues in Atlantic City, collided with a 2012 Nissan Altima, police said.

The driver of the Altima remained on the scene and both vehicles were towed, police said.

The boy was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, then airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Atlantic City police along with the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the crash.
