Atlantic City Government Employee Arrested for Official Misconduct and Theft in Atlantic County

Atlantic City, NJ --Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton announced on Aug. 19 that an Atlantic City government employee was arrested for official misconduct and five counts of Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property Received.
William Hadley, 56, of Egg Harbor Township was arrested on Aug. 11 by members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Official Corruption Unit, according to the press release.
Hadley is the Building Coordinator of Atlantic City's All Wars Memorial Building. He accepted money orders given by citizens to rent meeting rooms in the building and allegedly deposited money orders from five different victims into his personal bank account, the press release states.

The total value of the thefts from the five separate victims is over $6,500, the press release reports.
Hadley turned himself into the Prosecutor's Office in Mays Landing. He was then processed for the arrest, served a summons complaint, and released on his own recognizance, pending court, the press release says.

The City of Atlantic City suspended Hadley without pay.
