Atlantic City International Airport Closed Briefly for Suspicious Package Wednesday

A suspicious package was reported by the TSA Wednesday afternoon.

Egg Harbor Township, NJ -- An airport wide evacuation at the Atlantic City International Airport took place Wednesday afternoon, according to the New Jersey State Police Department.

At around 4 p.m., a suspicious object inside a bag halted operations at the airport. The New Jersey State Police Department was contacted by the TSA, police said.

The New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad came to the airport and deemed the situation safe, police said.

The airport reopened to travelers about an hour later.
