Atlantic City Teen Fatally Shot, Dies In N.J. Hospital: Police

The fatal shooting of a 17-year-old teen in Atlantic City has been ruled a homicide, police say.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — The fatal shooting of a 17-year-old teen in Atlantic City on Sunday has been ruled a homicide, police say.

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, while responding to multiple 9-1-1 calls about gunfire in the area, police found the male teenager suffering from a gunshot wound on the 1400 block of Magellan Avenue in Atlantic City around 12:45 a.m.

Emergency responders transported the teen to AtlanticCare Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour afterwards.

The death was ruled a homicide on Monday, prosecutors said. Authorities are withholding the identity of the deceased pending notification of his next-of-kin.
