Naked Man Goes On Crime Spree, Ends In Foot Chase In Atlantic Co.: Police

ABSECON, NJ — An Absecon man faces multiple criminal charges after a late night crime spree on July 1, where he broke into a car and two homes, assaulting multiple people while nude the entire time, police said.

Michael Davis, 37, is charged with three counts of burglary, three counts of aggravated criminal sexual contact, three counts of lewdness, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal restraint, theft from a person, hindering apprehension, obstruction and resisting arrest, Absecon police said.

Davis broke into a car and two apartments at the Absecon Townhomes and Clayton Mill Run Apartment Complex late Friday night, police said.

While naked, Davis broke into a car in the Absecon Townhomes parking lot, police said. A minor was driving the car, police said. Davis ordered the minor to drive to the Clayton Mill Run apartments, then assaulted the minor and stole his phone while fleeing, police said.

Davis then broke into an apartment, occupied by a mother and her two children, police said. The residents were able to leave unharmed while Davis was inside, police said.

Davis left that apartment, scaled a second story balcony and broke into another apartment where a mother and her infant child were inside. He tried to assault the woman, but she fought him off, causing Davis to flee, police said.

When police arrived at the scene, Davis hid. An officer found him, but Davis refused to surrender, which led to a foot chase, police said. Davis was caught and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
