Atlantic County Announces Dates For Drive-Thru Coronavirus Tests

Atlantic County will test symptomatic residents at the Hamilton Mall on Tuesday and next Thursday. Here's how to get tested.

MAYS LANDING, NJ — Atlantic County will open its drive-thru coronavirus testing center on two days next week behind the Hamilton Mall. The site is open to residents only, who must provide a doctor's script, verification or residency and confirmation of appointment.

Residents can begin making appointments as of 8 a.m. Friday by visiting www.aclink.org and clicking on the COVID-19 Testing link. Examples of proof of residency include a driver's license or utility bill.

The site will provide tests from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and next Thursday at 4403 E. Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing. The County held testing for first responders and health-care workers Thursday.

Individuals who don't experience symptoms won't be able to get tested. Resources around the state are limited to those exhibiting symptoms.

The County Division of Public Health and the physician who writes the script will get the test results. All residents will be notified of their results within one week, depending on the amount of tests the lab needs to process.

State officials reported 191 total positive cases and four deaths in Atlantic County as of Thursday afternoon. County officials released their first breakdown of positive cases by town Wednesday. Read more: Atlantic County Releases 1st Town Breakdown Of Coronavirus Cases

The County has confirmed 26 recoveries as of Wednesday.

Governor Phil Murphy said New Jersey has made "real progress" fighting the pandemic, even as he announced 3,748 new cases and 198 more deaths.
