ATV Rider Who Struck State Trooper Sought In South Jersey
New Jersey State Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man who struck a trooper with an ATV.
BUENA VISTA, NJ β New Jersey State Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying an ATV involved in an assault on a trooper in Buena Vista Township, Atlantic County.
On Saturday, Jan. 17, at approximately 5:02 p.m., troopers responded to a trespassing complaint concerning a wooded area near West Colton Avenue in Buena Vista Township, state police said. Troopers attempted to approach a group of all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and dirt bike riders on Jackson Road.
During the interaction, troopers tried to stop and speak with one ATV operator. The rider, described as a white male, was operating an orange CFMoto CForce. He accelerated in an attempt to flee the scene, striking a trooperβs arm and leg, police said. The suspect then fled into the wooded area, according to the New Jersey State Police.

State Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to provide information and are seeking details regarding events before, during or after the assault. Individuals who can identify the suspect are also encouraged to come forward.
