Authorities Seek Wildwood Man Who Used Bow and Arrow in Attempted Murder

Jonathan Moya, 31, was charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Officials are searching for a Wildwood man accused of attempted murder by shooting another man with a bow and arrow this week, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Wildwood Police Chief Steve Long announced on Wednesday.

Jonathan Moya, 31, was charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He remains at-large and was last seen leaving the area of the incident in a small white pickup truck bearing a temporary New Jersey Registration.

Carlos Casanova-Rosaria, 29, of Wildwood, has been charged with hindering apprehension and obstruction in this incident.

He was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $12,500 full cash bail.

At around 10:34 a.m. on Tuesday, members of the Wildwood Police Department Uniformed Patrol Division responded to 100 East Block of Schellenger Avenue for a report of a man bleeding from the leg.

Upon arrival officers discovered 35-year-old Angel Adorno Serrano had an arrow impaled through his left upper leg.

The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units and the Wildwood Police Department concluded that Moya shot Serrano with a crossbow within the Gilmore Motel located in the 100 East Block of Schellenger Avenue.

Taylor urges the citizens of Cape May County to report any information regarding this incident as well as any illegal activity and or any criminal activity within the community.
