It's almost time for the first day of school. Here are the important dates for the Galloway and Greater Egg Harbor school districts.
GALLOWAY, NJ — Kids will soon be heading back to school. Here are the important dates for both the Galloway Township and Greater Egg Harbor Regional school districts.
Galloway schools go back on Wednesday, Sept. 7, while Greater Egg Harbor students start on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Sept. 7: First day - early dismissal
Oct. 19: Early dismissal - parent/teacher conferences

Oct. 27: Early dismissal - parent/teacher conferences
Nov. 8: School closed - staff development day
Nov. 10-11: School closed -NJEA Convention
Nov. 23: Early dismissal
Nov. 24-25: School closed - Thanksgiving break
Dec. 6: Early dismissal - parent/teacher conferences
Dec. 23: Early dismissal
Dec. 24-Jan. 2: School closed - winter break
Jan. 16: School closed - Martin Luther King Day
Jan. 27: Early dismissal - staff articulation
March 10: Early dismissal - parent/teacher conferences
March 17 and 20: Reserved for emergency closure make-up
Apr. 7-14: School closed - spring break
May 5: Early dismissal - staff articulation
May 29: School closed - Memorial Day
June 15: Early dismissal
June 16: Early dismissal - last day
March 17 and 20 are built-in days for emergency closing. If additional closings occur, days will be added on to the end of the year.

Sept. 26: School closed - Rosh Hashanah
Oct. 5: School closed - Yom Kippur
Oct. 7: School closed - staff professional development
Nov. 10-11: School closed - NJEA Convention/Veterans Day
Nov. 23: Early dismissal
Nov. 24-25: School closed - Thanksgiving
Dec. 23: Early dismissal
Dec. 26-Jan. 2: School closed - holiday vacation
Jan. 16: School closed - Martin Luther King Day
Feb. 17: Early dismissal - staff professional development
Feb. 20: School closed - Presidents' Day
March 10: Early dismissal - staff professional development
Apr. 7-14: School closed - spring break
May 26: Reserved for emergency closing
May 29: School closed - Memorial Day
June 15: Last day
If schools close for emergency reasons, May 26 will be reclaimed. If additional closings occur, the school year will be extended.
