Bicyclist Killed In South Jersey Crash: Police
The 61-year-old bicyclist wasn't wearing a helmet when he and a Jeep Cherokee collided in Atlantic County, police said.
HAMILTON TWP., NJ β A 61-year-old man who wasn't wearing a helmet died Friday night in a collision between his bike and a Jeep Cherokee, the Township of Hamilton Police Department said.
The crash happened at about 8:22 p.m. on May 17 at milepost 45.5 on Black Horse Pike, police said.
A 21-year-old man from Blackwood was driving a 2014 Jeep Cherokee on the inside westbound lane, police said.

Arthur Herz, 61, of Mays Landing, rode his bicycle into the westbound lands and collided with the Jeep, police said.
Herz was not wearing a helmet at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The Jeep's driver was injured and taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Pomona for further evaluation, but his injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

The roadway was shut down for approximately four hours while the scene was investigated.
