Brigantine Beach Earns "Adopt-a-Beach" Award from the New Jersey Clean Communities Council

Brigantine Beach received award to honor volunteers for maintaining local coastline

Brigantine Beach received the New Jersey Clean Communities Council’s (NJCCC) annual “Adopt-a-Beach” Award to honor the staff and many volunteers who helped clean and maintain the coastline of Brigantine.

With the help of the Public Works Department and the enforcement of the NJCCC’s “Slam Dunk the Junk,” a volunteer-based, anti-litter campaign, Brigantine Beach strives to maintain a safe, litter-free environment.

Accepting the award on behalf of Brigantine was Public Works Superintendent John Doring.

“Trash washed up along the Brigantine shoreline, so the Public Works Department increased the cleanup efforts,” Doring said. The department continues to preserve municipal beaches, parks, and playgrounds in addition to setting up and cleaning up from special community events. “It is an ongoing commitment,” he said.

“Brigantine Beach is a terrific partner for us and has made tremendous strides in the battle against litter,” said Sandy Huber, executive director of the NJCCC. “We are proud to salute the work and the ongoing commitment to a litter free coastline.”
