Coast Guard Rescues Six After Boat Capsizes in Little Egg Inlet

The boat capsized around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.

The Coast Guard rescued six people that went overboard from a 20-foot boat that capsized in Little Egg Inlet on Saturday.

Watchstanders at Sector Delaware Bay received a report from a Good Samaritan of a capsized 20-foot boat with six people in the water at about 3:15 p.m.

A 25-foot Response Boat-Small crew from Station Atlantic City and a 24-foot Special Purpose Craft–Shallow Water crew from Station Barnegat Light responded to the case.

All six people were rescued from the water by the Station Barnegat Light crew and transferred to awaiting EMS in Port Republic.

Sea Tow was able to right the overturned boat and tow it to Chestnut Neck Boat Basin in Port Republic.
