Cops: South Jersey Man Had Almost 2,000 Bags of Heroin During Traffic Stop in Egg Harbor City

Police stopped 20-year-old Anthony Taylor after receiving tips of alleged drug activity in an area established as a public housing complex.

A Mullica Township man has been charged following an investigation that resulted in the seizure of 1,955 bags of heroin and 27 grams of marijuana, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain said on Tuesday.

The estimated street value of the heroin is $10,000, McClain said.

Anthony Taylor, 20, was charged with third degree possession of heroin, second degree possession of heroin with intent to distribute and second degree distribution of narcotics in a public housing complex.

The arrest followed a traffic stop in Egg Harbor City, initiated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Offices Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit based on complaints from residents and businesses of alleged drug activity in an area established as a public housing complex.

The Prosecutor’s Office led the subsequent search, with assistance from the Galloway Police Department and the Egg Harbor City Police Department.

Taylor was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility in lieu of $125,000 full cash bail.

The public is encouraged to assist in the efforts of combating, reducing and dismantling narcotics distribution networks within the County by sharing information with law enforcement.
