Cougar May Have Been Seen In Galloway - Or Not
While there are no official reports, some residents insist they saw a cougar wandering in the woods of Galloway.
GALLOWAY, NJ — It was two weeks ago when a woman first reported seeing a cougar sneaking around Galloway's woods. Now, more people are telling radio station Lite Rock 96.9 that they think they've seen the animal, too.
Some reports are recent, while others go back a bit. However, 96.9 said at least one person was tricking them. They shared a photo they said had been taken the night before, but after Googling, was found to be from 2011 and also nowhere near Galloway. Still, others cite that they saw a large animal with a long tail that they think could have been a cougar or mountain lion.
Despite these reports, there is no official word about anything cougar-related in South Jersey. There have been rumors for years, but NJ Department of Environmental Protection insists there are no cougars here.
