Democrat Becomes Galloway Mayor In Surprise Vote
Jim Gorman became mayor of Galloway, defeating Anthony Coppola in a 4-3 council vote.

GALLOWAY, NJ — Galloway Township has a new mayor. Jim Gorman earned mayoralty Thursday at the Township reorganization meeting, with a surprise vote giving him a 4-3 majority.
Republican Robert Maldonado voted with the three Democrats — Gorman, Mary Crawford and Frank Santo — to make Gorman the new mayor and Crawford deputy mayor.
Anthony Coppola was the incumbent mayor. He and Republicans Rich Clute and Tony DiPietro earned 58.4 percent of the vote last November against their three Democratic opponents.
