EGG HARBOR TWP., NJ — Looking to help families across the state? To address the diaper need, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) is holding its third annual #GreatBigDiaperDrive now through the end of October.

Led by CFBNJ’s Women Fighting Hunger in Egg Harbor Township and Hillside, the campaign was inspired by the fact that diapers are one of the most needed items for struggling families.

CFBNJ is collecting diapers, wipes, baby cream and cash donations to help the nearly one in two U.S. families who struggle to afford hygiene supplies.

Most-needed items for the drive include diapers (all sizes, but especially sizes 4-6), baby wipes, and baby cream. All items must be new and in original packaging and can be dropped off at CFBNJ’s Egg Harbor Township warehouse, 6735 Black Horse Pike. Cash donations to the virtual diaper drive can be made online, and groups and individuals are also invited to help raise awareness and run their own drives.

“Most federally funded public assistance programs don’t cover essential hygiene supplies like diapers, and many families who struggle to afford food lack access to these important products, too,” said Karen Leies, Chief of External Affairs at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. “No parent should have to make the impossible choice between food and diapers for their baby.”

Last year’s #GreatBigDiaperDrive was a huge success according to the food bank, raising more than $19,000 and collecting more than 250,000 diapers and tens of thousands of wipes and other necessities.
