Director of American Humanists Discusses Creating Change
Creating Change through Humanism is a new book exploring how people can lead moral lives without a higher power.
Roy Speckhardt, executive director of the American Humanist Association and a frequent media commentator, will discuss his book, “Creating Change through Humanism,” about how people can lead moral lives without belief in a higher power at 7 p.m. on August 20th at the UU Center, 75 S. Pomona Road at the corner of Liebig Street in Galloway.
Speckhardt has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN Headline News, Fox News, and National Public Radio and he writes a regular column for The Huffington Post. In his book, Speckhardt interweaves personal stories, including his own, of individuals who have journeyed from organized religion to humanistic convictions, and how to then live with the empathy and activism that characterize humanism today.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is hosted by the South Jersey Humanists. For more information, visit www.southjerseyhumanists.com.
