UPDATE: Pitney Road Reopens
A storm caused much destruction in South Jersey Wednesday afternoon.
Pitney Road has reopened and is clear in both directions after it had been closed between Crestview Avenue and Woodland Avenue due to a downed tree Wednesday afternoon, Absecon Police said.
The downed tree was the result of a storm that passed through the region on Wednesday.
Thousands of people were without power, according to outage maps posted by both Atlantic City Electric and PSE&G.
