Duo Indicted For Murder Of Man Found Dead In South Jersey Woods

Cellphone data showed that Dyshawn Bostick and Franchesa Burgos-Gonzalez traveled south at the same time as Isaac Bishop, later found dead.

WEYMOUTH TWP., NJ — A pair has been indicted for the murder of Isaac Bishop, 33, whose body was found dead in a wooded area of Atlantic County this past June two weeks after going missing.

Dyshawn Bostick, 28, from Tinton Falls and Franchesa Burgos-Gonzalez, 37, from Phoenix, AZ, were indicted Wednesday on counts of murder, conspiracy and weapons offenses related to the death of Bishop, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Bishop, an Irvington resident, went missing on June 9, 2024. On June 30, 2024, a hunter discovered his body riddled with gunshot wounds in the woods of Weymouth Township, authorities said. Shell casings were also found in the area.

Prior to his body being found, Bishop's last known contacts included Burgos-Gonzalez, officials said.

Cellphone data showed that Bostick, Burgos-Gonzalez and Bishop all traveled towards Weymouth Township from North Jersey simultaneously, authorities said.

Data also showed that Bostick and Burgos-Gonzalez were at the scene of the murder the same day that Bishop was last known to be alive, according to officials.

An investigation by New Jersey State Police led to Bostick and Burgos-Gonzalez being charged with murder. Bostick is currently detained pending trial and Burgos-Gonzalez is awaiting her detention hearing after being extradited from Arizona.
