Egg Harbor Man Who Shot At NYPD Cops in Bed-Stuy Gets Life: DA
Frederick Funes pleaded guilty to shooting at police after a wild chase through Brooklyn in 2016, prosecutors said.

An Egg Harbor man who shot at police during a car chase in 2016 was sentenced to life in prison, the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday. Frederick Funes, 37, pleaded guilty in November to shooting at police and intentionally crashing into a cop car, prosecutors said.
Police in 2016 began chasing Funes when they heard him fire his weapon in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood in Brooklyn, prosecutors said. While racing through the streets, he pointed his gun at three NYPD detectives, a lieutenant and an MTA employee, prosecutors said.
