EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Monday wasn't a typical day at the office for four Egg Harbor Township officers and five girls selling lemonade. Police stopped by their stand for some refreshing lemonade and then spent some quality time with the girls.

Sisters Rebecca, 12, Annalena, 10, and Julia DiMaio, 6, and their cousins Emily, 9, and Elizabeth Suhr, 6, provided refreshments. Officer Michael O'Hagan then took some time to speak to the girls about his K-9 partner Dozer.

Officer Thomas Becker and the girls traced with sidewalk chalk, Officer Michael Santoro showed the girls his cheerleading skills and Officer Michael Niceta did some yoga with them. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office recognized the four officers for their "Random Act of Copness."

“This is a true testament to the importance of community policing by law enforcement officers in Atlantic County," said Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner. "I applaud these Egg Harbor Township Police officers for taking the time to engage with youth in the community they protect and serve."
