The Noyes Museum of Art of Stockton College presents a delightful classical music concert by accomplished professional musicians Yoon Yon on viola and Heera Ghorashi on piano on Saturday, May 12th from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Yon will perform selections by Bach followed by a brief intermission. Then, both Yon & Ghorashi will perform pieces by Elgar, Massenet, Gluck & Kreissler. This delightful concert is a perfect way to celebrate Mother's Day weekend.
Yoon Yon has performed with distinguished orchestras in both national and international settings including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center as well as venues in Italy, Austria, Russia and Asia. Yon is an active orchestral & chamber musician, a soloist and a principal violist with the New Jersey Philharmonic Orchestra, Siena Chamber Orchestra, and Korean Chamber Orchestra. He has participated in many music festivals including the Internationale Sommer Akademie Mozarteum in Salzburg and the International Moscow Conservatory in Russia, on full scholarships. Yon made his New York debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as a winner of Artist International.
Heera Ghorashi has performed in New York and New Jersey including a solo recital, many appearances as a guest pianist at Stockton College, and numerous performances with her Piano Trio Group. She received her bachelor's degree from Seoul National University, her master's at the Manhattan School of Music and her Ph.D. at New York University where she also worked as a faculty member.
