The New Millennium Production Company's A Chorus Line

The New Millennium Production Company, the summer theater program of the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District will be presenting the award winning musical A CHORUS LINE.

A CHORUS LINE takes the audience behind the scenes of an audition for a Broadway musical and features those unsung heroes of the American Musical Theatre - the chorus dancers, those valiant, over-dedicated, underpaid and highly trained performers who back up the stars and often make them look even more talented than they are. Taking place in one day, we watch as the director probes and challenges the dancers as he tries to whittle the group down to the final eight who will be in the show. A CHORUS LINE features such memorable songs as “Nothing”, “The Music and the Mirror”, “One” and “What I Did For Love.”  Conceived and Originally Directed and Choreographed by Michael Bennett, A CHORUS LINE was written by James Kirkwood & Nicholas Dante with music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban.  The original Broadway production was co-choreographed by Bob Avian and the original Broadway production produced by the New York Shakespeare Festival, Joseph Papp, Producer, in association with Plum Productions, Inc.   A CHORUS LINE originally opened in 1975 and ran for a Broadway-record of 6,137 performances and didn’t close until 1990.  The production won nine Tony Awards.

Since 1999, the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District has offered this rich, rewarding extracurricular program which has allowed the students of the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District to work together.  Past productions have included:  Godspell, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Pippin, Bye Bye Birdie, Footloose, Crazy For You, How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, Guys & Dolls and last year’s highly successful production of Hairspray.
