EGG HARBOR TWP, NJ — Who cares about Christmas in July when you can have Halloween in July? Spirit Halloween is hosting its 2023 seasonal grand opening at the flagship South Jersey store on July 29.

It's not just an average reopening - this year, the popular Halloween store is celebrating its 40th anniversary of delivering spooky costumes and decorations to ghosts and ghouls all over the country.

There will be a variety of activities, including tarot card readings, graveyard bowling, food and drink vendors, and fun scares from Spirit Halloween partners Kung Fu Tea, Butterfinger and more.

If you're looking to scare up some grand opening goodies, the company asks that you arrive no earlier than 7 a.m. on July 28, the day before opening. Overnight parking or camping will not be permitted before that time.

The flagship store will officially open at 11 a.m. on July 29. Beginning at 7 a.m. that morning, guests will receive numbered lanyards on a first come, first serve basis. Then, beginning at 10:30 a.m., the event emcee will call groups up to enter the store based on their numbers.

Last year, more than 2,000 Halloween super-fans descended on the store for its seasonal opening, so be prepared for a long line.
