Free Community Assistance Event This Weekend In Atlantic City
Non-profit Power Changes Lives is hosting a free community assistance event on Saturday to help those in need.
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — Struggling community members can find some relief at Saturday's free community assistance event in Atlantic City.
Power Changes Lives Inc, a Morris Plains-based non-profit, is hosting the event through its program LavaLove. The event will have free food, clothing, community assistance and a celebrity music concert. It will be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center on May 28 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
S.H.O.W LavaLove event locations were chosen to embed into the heart of communities hardest hit by Covid-19, the non-profit said in a news release.

Guests will receive free food, new clothing donated by Amazon and services provided by more than 50 community partners in areas such as financial, housing, employment, and legal assistance, hot showers, medical exams, DMV mobile unit services and more.
New this year, guests will be able to "shop" for free at Plenti, a pop-up clothing store where you can "purchase" clothing donated by Amazon.

In addition to the services, each guest will receive a free, hot, nutritious meal, a free food box to-go and enjoy a celebrity music concert.
The event is family-friendly and includes activities for children as well, including a bounce house, face painting and tattoos, art therapy, giant-sized board games and cotton candy.
LavaLove will also be present. LavaLove is a 29-foot mobile hygiene shower trailer equipped with 3 shower-sink-toilets, washing machine/dryer, and an ancillary services room (medical, dental, optometry, and mental health screenings) that also serves as a barber/grooming room.
Guests are encouraged to reserve their free tickets online at Eventbrite as the event is expected to serve more than 2,000 people.
