Galloway Man Allegedly Assaults K-9 Cop, Officers After Burglarizing Cars
Police say Sampson Jenkins resisted arrest after police say he attempted to break into cars on Cos Cob Drive.

A Galloway man has been charged with multiple offenses after assaulting Galloway police officers, including a K-9, early Friday morning.
Sampson Jenkins, 20, was charged with motor vehicle burglaries, resisting arrest and assault on police and police K-9, Galloway Township Police announced Friday night.
At around 4:16 a.m., Galloway Police, including K-9 Sgt. Mark D’Esposito and K-9 Zito, responded to reports of motor vehicle burglaries on the 300 block of Cos Cob Drive.

D’Esposito saw Jenkins allegedly attempting to break into a car in front of a residence, and Jenkins allegedly ran when D’Esposito attempted to arrest him.
Zito was able to capture Jenkins, but Jenkins then allegedly assaulted Zito and police officers.

Jenkins was eventually captured. Zito and the officers were uninjured in the incident. Jenkins was treated for minor injuries.
Jenkins was allegedly found in possession of numerous stolen items from vehicles on Cos Cob Drive.
He was charged with numerous offenses and lodged in The Atlantic County Justice Facility in lieu of $35,000 bail.
