Galloway Man Charged With DWI, Assault by Auto Following Serious Accident: Police

The accident took place at at Wrangleboro Road and Collins Road.

Galloway Township, NJ -- A Galloway man has been charged with multiple offenses, including DWI and assault by auto following an accident at Wrangleboro Road and Collins Road at 8:58 p.m. Friday night, Galloway Police said.

William Cross, 20, was driving a 2003 Ford minivan north on Wrangleboro Road when police say he crossed the center line and struck a 1995 Dodge pickup head on.

The pickup was driven by 56-year-old Dennis Avent, of Galloway, who was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland for serious but non-life threatening injuries. Cross was uninjured.

The accident is being investigated by Ofc. Steve Garrison of the GTPD Traffic Unit. The road was shut down for approximately one hour for investigation and removal of vehicles and debris.

Assisting Agencies included the Galloway Township Ambulance Squad, the Bayview Fire Company and Done Right Towing.
