Galloway Man Hit With Beer Bottle, Robbed In His Home: Police
The alleged assailant was arrested soon after the crime, police said.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Galloway Township man has been charged in an armed robbery that took place earlier this week. Thomas Westcott, 21, is charged with robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and unlawful possession of a weapon, Galloway Township Police said Friday evening. He was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Police responded to a report of an armed robbery and assault on the 600 block of 6th Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 30. Police learned that the man was held up at gunpoint while in his house, with the perpetrator demanding personal property and money.
When the victim refused to turn anything over, he was hit in the back of the head with a glass beer bottle. He was then taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus for non life threatening injuries.

Police identified Westcott as the assailant, and arrested him on Monday. Police then executed a search warrant at Westcott’s home, where they say they found a loaded Rossi .357 magnum snub nose revolver allegedly used in the crime. They also said they found additional ammunition.
