UPDATE: Galloway Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident: Police

The man was hit at the intersection of Route 30 and Route 9 early Saturday morning.

Galloway Township, NJ -- A Galloway Township man was killed in a hit-and-run accident early Saturday morning, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain said.

Kyle Marcy, 26, was hit at the intersection of Route 9 and Route 30 in Absecon at 4:12 a.m. Saturday.

Police believe that Macy was hit after getting out of a car in which he was a passenger, described as a silver 2015 Kia Forte, at the intersection.

The driver of the car that hit Macy stopped briefly before leaving the scene of the accident, police said.

The car that struck Macy has been identified as a 2012 Honda Civic, dark in color. It would have front passenger side damage, according to police.

Members of the Absecon Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office's Fatal Collisions Unit responded to the scene.

Macy was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, where he was later pronounced dead.
