Galloway Man Sentenced in Armed Robbery of Smithville Gas Station

Galloway, NJ -- A Galloway man has been sentenced to seven years in state prison after pleading guilty to the 2015 armed robbery of a gas attendant at the Spirit Gas Station located at 14 South New York Road in Smithville, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton said on Friday.

Brian S. Gill Jr., 25, was sentenced to seven years for first-degree armed robbery and second-degree possession of a firearm by a convicted person. He must serve five years, 11 months of his term before becoming eligible for parole.

The robbery took place on Sept. 29 of last year, and Gill was arrested on Jan. 15.

Gill admitted that he demanded cash from a clerk at the gas station while he was brandishing a “long gun,” and made off with between $90 and $120 in cash.

He was sentenced on Aug. 26.
