Galloway Man Shot, Killed: Prosecutor

Authorities are investigating the death of Baseem Taliaferro, 38, who was shot and killed in Pleasantville.

PLEASANTVILLE, NJ — Authorities are investigating a shooting that killed a Galloway man Thursday night in Pleasantville.

It was just after 11 p.m. on May 9 when Pleasantville police responded to the West Pleasant Avenue home in reference to shots fired, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Police found Baseem Taliaferro, 38, dead inside the home, authorities said.

Taliaferro had at least one gunshot wound to his torso, authorities said, and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy.

This incident is currently being investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office's Major Crimes Unit and the Pleasantville Police Department.
