Galloway Police Warn of Work at Home Scam
A resident was recently caught up in a stolen item scam.

A Galloway resident was recently the victim of a stolen property scam, Galloway Police said on Friday.
The person applied for a work from home job through a popular listing website.
The alleged job required the individual to receive packages containing numerous different products (electronics, sports equipment, etc) at home.

The suspects would then email new shipping information to the victim who would then resend these items to other addresses.
Some addresses were within the United States and others were in foreign countries. It was later discovered that these items were purchased with fraudulent credit cards.

The victim was promised to be paid once these items were sent. These are not legitimate job offers, and police advise residents not to give out any personal information to any unknown emails and/or websites.
