Galloway Woman Sustains Non Life-Threatening Injury After Being Hit by Train

She sustained a head injury, but is expected to survive, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

A Galloway woman who was hit by a New Jersey Transit train Sunday morning suffered a head wound that is not life threatening, The Press of Atlantic City reports.

On Sunday at 12:51 p.m., the Absecon Police Department along with Absecon Medical Services responded to the train station platform for a report of a person being hit by a train, police said on Sunday.

A 52-year-old woman had been walking along the tracks and allegedly jumped in front of the train. The incident is being investigated as an attempted suicide.

The train operator attempted to alert the woman by sounding the horn, but was unable to stop before hitting her, according to The Press.

She was treated and transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center- City Campus by the Absecon EMS assisted by AtlantiCare paramedics. Absecon Police assisted the New Jersey Transit Police with their investigation.
