Galloway Woman, Teenager Charged With Robbing Cab Driver

Nia Wright and a teenager allegedly robbed a cab driver who gave them a ride home Saturday morning.

A Galloway woman and a teenage girl were charged with robbing a cab driver who gave them a ride home Saturday morning.

Nia Wright was charged with robbery and lodged in The Atlantic County Justice Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail. The juvenile female was also charged, Galloway Police said Saturday afternoon.

A 28-year-old cab driver from Egg Harbor Township reported being robbed by two females he picked up in Atlantic City and drove to an area near the intersection of Holly Brook Drive and Hilltop Drive around 8:51 a.m.

As the driver was completing the transaction, he was allegedly punched by the 17-year-old and Wright stole his money and attempted to flee.

The victim was able subdue the juvenile and kept her on scene until police arrived. Wright returned to the scene of the robbery to returned to the scene of the robbery to retrieve the juvenile and was arrested.
