Home, Dogs Lost In 'Devastating' Egg Harbor Township Fire

A fundraiser has been launched to help the Sroka family rebuild after losing everything in a house fire.

EGG HARBOR TWP., NJ β€” A fundraiser has been launched after a local family lost everything in a "devastating" house fire.

All five township fire companies, plus mutual aid from neighboring communities, worked together to extinguish the fire at about 9 a.m. on Feb. 12 at the home on Betsy Scull Road in the Scullville section of town. See photos from the fire here.

That home was owned by the Sroka family, a Polish family who worked hard to build a life in New Jersey, according to a GoFundMe created by a family member.

They lost their home and all their belongings in the fire, according to the fundraiser.

"The Sroka family also had a family business breeding French bulldogs, unfortunately many of their dogs and puppies also perished during this disaster," the fundraiser added.

As of Tuesday morning, the GoFundMe has raised more than $14,000 of its $25,000 goal.

"Due to having no insurance on their home their family is truly in catastrophic state and are requesting any help you could possibly give so they may start to rebuild their lives and buy basic necessities that were lost," the GoFundMe said.
