Human Remains Discovered in South Jersey; State Police Seek ID
A hunter found the remains in a wooden area Thursday morning.
New Jersey State Police are seeking the public’s help identifying human skeletal remains discovered by a hunter in a wooden area near Main Avenue and Route 40 in Buena Vista Township, Atlantic County, Thursday morning.
Along with the remains, the following personal items were also found: a black baseball cap with “Puerto Rico” written in red and blue lettering on the brim and “Puerto Rico” written multiple times in a circular pattern on the front of the cap, a red windbreaker coat with “N.Y.C. Lifeguard Dept. of Parks” written on the back, and a green backpack containing a black LG cell phone and prescription eyeglasses.

State Police are asking anyone with knowledge of a person who may have been wearing the items in this area to contact the Buena Vista Station at 609-561-1800, ext 3355.
