JD's To Offer St. Louis Style Ribs, Buffalo Chicken At Taste of Galloway

Ribs will be introduced as a part of JD's regular menu after the event.

On Thursday night, Taste of Galloway will give food lovers a chance to sample the fare of restaurants from around town.

At , the restaurant will be offering St. Louis style ribs, something the pub has offered as a special before, but which will be making its way on to the regular menu soon.

"We've run them very successfully as a weekend special," said Todd Storr, general manager at JD's. "So we'll be rolling them out on Thursday for Taste of Galloway."

The difference between St. Louis style ribs, and the more common baby back ribs, said Storr, is that St. Louis style ribs are larger, more tender, and meatier. The ribs at JD's will be slow cooked for six hours and smothered in the pub's own barbeque sauce.

Storr describes JD's as equal parts pub and grill, with half of their business coming from each, and he says they take food seriously.

"We love to use fresh produce," he said. "Especially from local farms around here, and we get our seafood locally."

He said that he sees as an opportunity to introduce new people to the types of food they can find at JD's.

"I think it's a great idea. Hopefully year after year it can expand and become an annual event."

Not only will JD's be offering ribs, but also boneless buffalo chicken tenders. Taste of Galloway, which will be held Thursday, June 28 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., is in its inaugural year. Wristbands are $10 per person or $30 per family.
