LoBiondo Fires Back at Hughes for Campaign Ads
The Congressman blamed Gov. Ed Rendell for Atlantic City's woes. Rendell comes to Atlantic City for a Hughes fundraiser Friday.

U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo, (R-2nd) fired back at his Democratic challenger in November’s election when he sent out a statement Thursday saying Democrat Bill Hughes Jr. was holding a fundraiser in concert with Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell on Friday.
In the statement, LoBiondo called Rendell the “Chief Architect of Pennsylvania gaming,” and blamed the governor for creating competition for Atlantic City.
Four Atlantic City casinos have closed this year and about 8,000 jobs have been lost. Rendell joins Hughes for a fundraiser in Atlantic City on Friday.

“As he airs false attack ads on local television charging Congressman Frank LoBiondo (NJ-02) is responsible for unemployment in Atlantic City, Democrat Bill Hughes Jr. is scheduled to hob-knob at a high-priced fundraiser with the man directly responsible for expanding regional gaming competition against New Jersey that resulted in lost local jobs and tourism dollars from the resort town,” LoBiondo said in the statement.
The advertisement began airing on Thursday.

In the advertisement, Hughes references the 47,000 people who worked in Atlantic City when LoBiondo was sworn into Congress in 1995, and said half those jobs are gone, according to The Press of Atlantic City.
The advertisement was produced by RSH Campaigns, a Democrat-oriented firm based in Washington, D.C., according to the report.
