Low Income Atlantic Co. Seniors Can Get Fresh Produce Vouchers

ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — Qualifying Atlantic County seniors are eligible for fresh produce vouchers, according to the county government.

Those eligible will receive $30 worth of free vouchers that are good through November, the government said.

To be eligible, participants must have an Atlantic County mailing address and be 60-years-old or older. The maximum annual income for a single person is $2,096 a month or $25,142 a year. For married couples it is $2,823 a month or $33,874 a year.

Vouchers are only valid at authorized farmers' markets, not grocery stores. They must be used to buy fresh, local produce. They cannot be used for citrus, tropical fruits or processed/baked goods.

The vouchers are given in $6 increments. Participants do not have to use all checks in one trip, however, no change is given so you must pick at least $6 worth of produce.
