Man Admits To Sexual Assault Of Galloway Niece: Prosecutor

GALLOWAY, NJ — A Cape May County man pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual assault of his underage niece, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Taron Thomas, 33, of Ocean View admitted that he "committed an act of sexual penetration" on his 14-year-old niece in her Galloway home during April 2021, officials said.

Thomas's guilty plea calls for a sentence of 10 years in New Jersey State Prison, with 85 percent to be served before parole eligibility, and followed by Megan's Law registration and parole supervision for life, officials said.

Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 19, 2023, pending an evaluation at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center, according to officials.
