Man Drove Self To Hospital After Being Stabbed In Galloway: Police

A suspect has been arrested, but police are still searching for the weapon.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ — One man is in custody following a stabbing in Galloway Township, police said on Thursday. Police are still searching for the knife used in the alleged incident.

Laquann Anderson, 27, of Galloway, has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess weapons in the April 6 stabbing of 29-year-old Freedom Young, of Galloway.

The alleged stabbing took place during a fight at a residence on Patriots Court, police said. After being stabbed, Young drove himself to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Division.

He was then taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division Trauma Center for treatment of his injuries.

Police say Anderson stabbed Young several times during the fight before fleeing the residence. He was arrested by Galloway Township Police about an hour later, in the area of Greenwich Drive and Wrangleboro Road. He was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
