Man Guilty Of Raping Girlfriend's Daughter, 5, In Atlantic City Home
Oscar Oberlino Gomez Miralda sexually assaulted the young girl in her bedroom while her mom was at work, authorities said.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — An Atlantic City man was found guilty of raping his girlfriend's five-year-old daughter after a trial, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
Oscar Oberlino Gomez Miralda, 41, was convicted of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child by sexual conduct by a petit jury on June 26, authorities said.
The jury found that Gomez Miralda "committed an act of sexual penetration" on the girl on Dec. 25, 2022 in her Atlantic City home, authorities said.

It was discovered by the girl's mother, who set up a camera phone to record her daughter's bedroom while she was at work, authorities said.
Gomez Miralda was dating the mother at the time of the assault and lived in the house with them, officials said.

He faces between 25 years without parole to life in New Jersey State Prison for the aggravated sexual assault charge, plus mandatory sex offender registration and parole supervision for life. Gomez Miralda also faces an additional five to ten years in prison for endangering the welfare of a child.
Gomez Miralda's sentencing is set for Sept. 16, 2024, but it will likely get postponed, as he must be evaluated at the New Jersey Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center to determine whether he poses a risk of reoffending before he can be sentenced.
