Man Killed In Head-On DWI Crash In South Jersey: Police
The driver of a Mercury Mountaineer was charged with driving while impaired after she crossed into oncoming traffic and struck another car.
EGG HARBOR TWP., NJ — A Somers Point man was killed Monday night when an impaired driver crossed over the center line and struck his car head-on, Egg Harbor Township police said.
The crash was reported at about 9 p.m. Monday on Blackman Road between Brookside Drive and Meadow Drive, police said.
A 2006 Mercury Mountaineer was driving north on Blackman Road when the driver crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic, police said. As the car continued in the wrong lane, it struck a 2015 Honda CRV driving south head-on, police said.

The driver of the Honda CRV, 72-year-old Joseph Natale of Somers Point, was badly injured and was later pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital, police said.
The front seat passenger, Tobias Natale, 28, was also injured and hospitalized, though police did not share the extent of his injuries.

Oriel Dixon, 38, the Mercury's driver, was charged with DWI, police said. The Egg Harbor Township resident and her juvenile male passenger were both evaluated by EMS for minor injuries. Additional charges are forthcoming as investigation into the crash continues, police said.
Blackman Road was shut down for about four hours Monday night as the crash was investigated and cleaned up.
