Man Snatched Purse From Woman While She Ate At Galloway Restaurant: Police

Andrew Harder was captured shortly after the purse snatching at Assagio.

Galloway Township, NJ -- A Tuckerton man has been arrested after stealing a 33-year-old Hammonton woman’s purse while she dined at a restaurant in Galloway, police said.

Andrew Harder, 28, was charged with theft of moveable property and possession of CDS.

Police say he stole the woman’s person from the back of her chair while she was eating at Assagio Restaurant on Oct 5 at about 8:36 p.m.

He had walked into the restaurant a short time before stealing her purse, and then fled the scene west on the White Horse Pike, police said.

As he fled, he dropped the purse, but kept the victim’s Louis Vuitton wallet and its contents, according to police.

Patrol officers and a K-9 unit checked the area, eventually finding and arresting Harder. They recovered the wallet and all of its contents.

Harder was charged and released on summons, pending court.
